Alitheia

Alitheia on Myspace

Years prior to Alitheia's formation, its founding members yearned for a collaborative project where, out of mutually respected and nurtured individual ideals, a quality singular vision could spring. Little did they know at the time that they were setting the cornerstone for what would become their band ethic and overall musical aspiration.

Alitheia (pronounced uh-lith-ee-uh), a Greek word meaning "not forgetting" and "truth" saw its official beginnings in the summer of 2001. This came nearly 2 years after yet-to-be frontman Alfredo Vicente (who, inspired by guitarist Zul Valentine's previous band, learned to croon and polished his technique by 'singing in the woods for hours') returned to South Florida after an indefinite hiatus. Alongside his classical piano and Bel Canto training, Alfredo's introspective temperament would provide the impetus for his outbursts of poetry which in due time would prove essential to the thematic explorations of the group. --"He has a great voice, he's sexy, and there's something reminiscent of Jim Morrison..." - Toni Gonzalez of 93ROCK (Emerging Artist Competition) commenting on Alfredo

In 1999, guitarist Zul Valentine, (the eldest of the group with 21 years experience at present) was drawing a close to his band of 7 years, Savannah Fuma, which enjoyed some local success in the mid-90's opening up for known acts such as Quiet Riot and Flock of Seagulls in 96'. Alongside his hard rock inclination (first showcasing his chops in his highschool talent show by playing Van Halen's Poundcake, drill and all), Zul studied Classical guitar to familiarize himself with proper technique, and North Classical Indian sitar to expand his understanding of sound and the culture surrounding it. Zul's broad musical influences allow for a spectrum of unfamiliar moods that draw the listener irresistibly further into the heart of Alitheia. --"Alitheia is a progressive-metal band with some great guitar work." - LE/Judge (Emergenza Festival)

Long-time friend and bandmate, bassist Rick Albertini (previously of Savannah Fuma as well), joined his first band at the age of 15 thanks to lying that he could play. Three days before his birthday he asked his mom for a G&L Lynx, practiced desperately, and at last blew his cover by showing up to rehearsal with no amp. Fortunately, he did have his belt to use as a strap. Since then, Rick has purchased a rig, matured as a self-taught bassist, and now serves as linchpin to the band. Anchoring and counterbalancing the oft-transcendent soundscapes of the sonic body.--"Rick is great--pause--Rick is punk!" - an observant critic

Four years would pass before drummer Xavier would join the group. An apprentice to Italo Lamboglia (Shakira's 1st drummer), Xavier's extensive repertoire of drum grooves as well as experience playing before crowds of 40,000 in his native Colombia held great importance for the group. In tracing his roots, one is taken aback by Xavier's first 'drum kit' made of paint cans and busted cymbals, as well as his ability to crank out complex rhythms on assorted household items (debuting his talent when only 15). With unbridled showmanship and assymetric beats, Xavier provides Alitheia with an unwavering backbone. --"...his solo was incredible but when he started circling the drum kit, I was shot over the moon!" - an eyewitness to Xavier's drumsolo at Alitheia's live show

With 6 years of meticulous and diligent songwriting abilities under its belt, Alitheia is causing a stir with fans and fellow bands alike. Currently working on new material for their full length album, they seek to surpass themselves. Exceeding the patchwork of what is said of them today:

"Impassioned baritone vocals weave with abandon over gem-splicing distortion and shimmering cleans. Driven forever forward by an undercurrent of growling bass lines; backed by an arsenal of seismic drum work. The depth and dynamic of the live experience is impossible to miss."

Griffin Anthony

www.griffinanthony.com

Ambitious doesn't even begin to describe the vision of this multi-faceted performer. Like a well-rounded character in literature, New York native and part-time South Florida resident, Griffin Anthony, has become artistically textured in his musical career. Layering profound lyrics and blues-inspired melodies within the framework of his vocals has done little to pigeon-hole him into one specific genre of music; instead, his cross-cultural style can simply be summed up in one word: amazing! A self-taught performer, Griffin, 24, began as a drummer for a childhood band, “The Ripptides,” at the age of 12. His fellow bandmates included Gillian Roth, the daughter of legendary guitar player, Arlen Roth, and Anna Menken, the daughter of Academy Award-winning film score composer, Alan Menken. Gillian's untimely death, resulting from an automobile accident, did little to hinder the ambitions of her adolescent bandmates. This would forever have an impact on Griffin's mindset; he went on to study percussion with Princeton University professor, John Arrucci, before becoming acquainted with the guitar at 17, which served as a creative emotional outlet and tribute to the loss of his childhood friend.
Another inspirational experience for Griffin occurred while working backstage at the famous Newport Jazz Festival as a teen. There, he encountered several golden opportunities to assist such legendary performers as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Diana Krall, Wynton Marsalis, Cassandra Wilson, Chick Corea, and George Benson. When talking with Griffin today, it's evident his adventures at the Festival are deep-seated in the current path of his music.
Griffin's love for a diverse variety of music has given insight to his own unique mixed-genre (jazz, rock, blues and folk) songs -- influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder and Jimi Hendrix have become agents for his writing process. Through an innovative syncopated rhythmic style of strumming, the melodies and Griffin's persona come together... lyrics structured with conversational verses and wide-open choruses hinging on multiple themes, originating from his early years and trace his steps to the present. Each track combines nostalgia, lust, love, time, trust and personal philosophies, giving listeners a contemplative, thought-provoking experience. Over the years, he's played hundreds of shows throughout New York and Florida and continues to gain an appreciative fan base.
Griffin's latest release, “The Griffin Anthony EP,” was recorded at DTM Studios in Miami with the aid of Dan Geary, whose illustrious career with Sony and BMG spans over 20 years. To his credit, Third World, Lauren Hill and Mary J. Blige are a few of the many recording artists Geary's worked with, as well as having numerous productions hit the Billboard Top 100 list.
With such a rich musical history to draw from, Griffin's passion, determination and raw talent have definitely paved his way on the road to success...

Space Devoted

http://www.spacedevoted.com/

Hailing from the beautifully dysfunctional city of Memphis TN, Space Devoted draws from the tension to produce a form of atmospheric rock still heavily focused on crafting songs. Their debut album The Time Of Release presents twelve individual works with identifiable faces yet from one common heritage. Having developed a unique perspective from playing the Memphis music scene in such notable groups as Fluid and Kylin Rose, the trio produces a surprisingly rich aural landscape with only guitar, bass, drums, and voice. An energetic raw live presence and everyday image add to the band's appeal, offering audiences not only entertainment, but also something with which to connect.

Members of Space Devoted have played such notable Memphis venues as The New Daisy, Newby’s, Hi Tone, Young Avenue Deli, Hard Rock, The Blue Monkey, and The Orpheum, as well as a number of smaller clubs in the surrounding areas. Members have even performed as far away as Nanjing and Shanghai China. Individually, they have performed with Booker T. Jones of Booker T. & the MGs, The Nanjing Symphony Orchestra, Carl Allen, The Memphis Jazz Orchestra, Jim McNeely and Louis Bonilla of The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Charlton Johnson of Count Basie’s Orchestra and shared the stage with composer Bob Brookmeyer, The Woody Herman Orchestra, Doug Wamble, the Commodores Jazz Ensemble of the U.S. Navy, The Southern Comfort Jazz Orchestra, and The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.

Though the group Space Devoted is relatively new, its members, through previous bands Fluid and Kylin Rose, have been featured in the Commercial Appeal, The Memphis Playbook, and The University of Memphis’ Daily Helmsman.

In Habit

http://www.myspace.com/inhabitmusic

Inhabit was formed in a warehouse located in the depths of Opa Locka, Florida. For nearly three years the band has been together, practicing and honing their crafts?creating music, they feel, will hopefully, transcend and translate the minds of their listeners. The Inhabit sound reigns from a collective influence of primarily progressive, punk and classic rock music. Some might describe inhabit?s music as an eclectic interpretation of those three styles (and then some), featuring melodic and rhythmic bass lines, intensely creepy guitar riffs and licks, and a powerful and driven percussion section. Inhabit members include Fabian (vocals, guitar, keys), David (bass), and Christian (drums), and Natalie (guitar, keys). Creating music, for inhabit, is more than just a virtue?it is a therapy.

[Integer]

http://www.myspace.com/integer

[integer]'s beginning was quite a conundrum. From the beginning, singer/songwriter [lucid], set out to create something a little different. With an immense respect for anything musical and the propensity to oppose genre categorizing, [lucid] sought to explore the diversity of modern sounds. Influenced by classic rock, alternative rock, R&B, hip hop, electronic and Latin influences. [integer] launched in 2005, soon after [lucid] joined forces with bassist [el oni], [mr Ee], and drummer [ra]. [el oni], who was born on Latin grounds and raised in the U.S., brings forth bass lines influenced by modern jazz, classic rock and heavy metal. His funky melodies and rocking slap grooves give [integer] that low end sound that Miami is famous for. Drummer [ra] brings fourth solid rhythms and grooves influenced by blues, rock and grunge. His multi-instrument ability and the ability to rock the drums in compliment to the band's use of programmed drums, allow the band to experiment with the versatility of different grooves, melodies and tempos. The addition of rhythm guitarist [mr Ee], whose long line of family artists inspired his artistic endeavors. With his three continent lineage and musical influences just as diverse, his bass inspired guitar riffs ensure the band never lacks flavor. As the band continued to seek out the remaining members, they began writing and recording. After a couple of months of writing, the band welcomed lead guitarist [kev] to the line up. Also hailing from Miami, [kev]'s leads found their place in the equation. His addition made [integer]'s sound come up to par with the envisioned project. Now all that was missing was the programmer/keys. After finalizing some compositions, [integer] set out to play local shows. Up to this point, the synth and drums programming duties were solely on [lucid] and [ra]'s hands. Their drive to use different musical elements in each arrangement is an element that brings more color to the sound. Soon after playing a handful of shows, [integer] recruited electronic artist [di gee]. Yet another Florida native, his percussion influences bring the extra element that [lucid] so imagined. After a couple of months in the studio, the band and lead guitarist Kevin Pineiro went their separate ways. [Raf] joined the band soon thereafter. His addition to the band put them back on track. And the story continues.........

Jahfe

www.myspace.com/jahfe

JAHFE, which means creation, is made up of a band that shows the beauty of diversity. Founded in 2002 by Sasha Sanon, of Haiti, and Esther Fortune (born in Miami but raised in Haiti). They both embrace their Haitian heritage and share an interest in spiritual growth and raising cultural awareness through the strength and rhythm of their Reggae/Haitian influenced music.
One of the founding members, Esther Fortune, has worked with Wyclef Jean and Columbia Records, BlackOut Movement (This is Why I'm Hot), Ky-Mani Marley, Paul Fakourie, (production of Lauryn Hill, Stephen Marley, and Damian Marley) & Gwen Stefani.
Sasha believes that spirituality and rhythm are the way to the meaning of life. Sasha’s musical journey has taken him from Haiti to New York were he founded a Drum Circle in Central Park and started a roots band called Djevo, all the way east to Japan. Sasha has traveled the world spreading his passion for racial, ethnic, and cultural unity. In the summer of 1994, with the group Africa Mondo, Sasha opened for the Rolling Stones on their Voodoo Lounge Tour.
The band has a rhythm section that will not accept anything short of the strongest vibe. From the lengths of the east coast musicians Will Mills, Hunter Parmentier and Zach Morillo, are on a mission of the groove. With the desire to bring music to the people around the world, the guys will continuously seek out the satisfaction of throwing a reggae party. This rhythm section makes up Green House Music, the driving musical force that is the production team of Jahfe’s upcoming album The Solution.
JAHFE is aware and active with current events with a special interest in Darfur and gun violence. JAHFE has performed for the Darfur Coalition for International Peace Day and is currently finishing up a song for Darfur, which will be released in Africa. The band has been working with Darren A. Saunders who is shooting a documentary about the experiences of Robert Leroy Bozeman, who is a survivor of gun violence in JAHFE’S home base city of Miami. One of JAHFE’S songs, “Solution,” is featured in a chilling montage of photos and video clips in the documentary.
Jahfe might be a new force on the music scene, yet this will not stop the power of their music. They have a vision of where the world can be in a safer world and believe that the sound that they present will help the people of this beautiful earth.

Last Gang In Town

If a band chooses a name to conjure up a description of itself to the outside world, then Last Gang In Town chose the most appropriate moniker of all. Formed at the end of 2001 in Miami, Florida, the group plays a driving blend of punk and rock n’ roll that’s fast becoming obsolete among the current wash of soggy emo bands and monotone pseudo rap rock groups.
That this plucky trio would form in the bowls of trendy Miami, the current sun and fun glamour hotspot of the world, makes them even more of an endangered species But LGIT are an unlikely mix. Take the sons of two Cuban refugee families, one a wizened vet of the punk underground scene that reverberated in the USA during the Reagan years, the other an upstart who started his music career at the age 14. Mix with a Peruvian expat drummer, and you have LGIT- a blend of the best of British 70s punk and good old fashioned American rock’n’roll.
They’re not just a band. Last Gang In Town are modern day descendants of Don Quixote, set loose in the New World, lancing at the current decrepit music scene in the same manner that their forebear lanced against windmills back in the Old Country.
Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Victor Garcia-Rivera lanced at windmills of his own back in the days when Hair Metal bands ruled supreme, forming seminal Cincinnati punk band The Edge, who later moved to Boston and released future Ebay collectible recordings on the Throbbing Lobster and Smear record labels. In the 90s, when grunge took over the New World Order of music, he formed Spanish punk band Arranca, ruffling the feathers of both pro and anti-Castro Cubans with the release of the concept album “Exile On Pain Street”. He relocated to Miami, Florida shortly before that band dissolved.
In Miami, he joined forces with bassist George Rodriguez, a Hialeah teenager whose grandfather, Guillermo Rodriguez Feiffe, composed the classic Cuban tune “La Negra Tomasa”. George picked up the bass when he heard recordings by bands such as the Misfits, Sex Pistols, and the Buzzcocks, all bands whose glory days expired long before he was born. He started touring and recording in bands with Victor when just barely entering high school.
In spite of the generation gap, both musicians had much in common- raised in the USA by parents who fled Castro’s Cuba, yet totally out of synch with their Cuban American compatriots in musical tastes and lifestyles. Their inspiration came from across the seas, as well as from the island of their parents. The isle of Britain and its musical revolution of 1977 became their guiding light.
George and Victor formed the band Newport Gestapo in 2000, touring around the state of Florida and recording a demo. That group disbanded at the end of the following year with the departure of their drummer, and the 2 musicians decided to regroup with a more powerful, direct approach. They just had to find the missing piece of the puzzle.
An ad in a record store bought a call from recently arrived Peruvian immigrant Jamyl D’Angelo. Jamyl shared the same musical influences as Victor and George. Growing up in Peru he listened to British punk bands and jammed with friends, but couldn’t find any fellow Peruvian musicians with the same passion. His answer: Move North! Jamyl responded to Victor and George’s ad, and LGIT was legit! The trio quickly jelled.
George took a sabbatical from the music scene in 2003 when he went up north to complete his university studies and travel the globe, but returned in 2007 to reunite with the other 2 original members. Last Gang In Town has songs with melody, but there is power and joy behind the tunes. The songs of LGIT are not the feeble exercises in self pity shared by the emo and rap rock bands that are all the rage, but a celebration of being unique in a mass market world. One of their strengths is their well-constructed songs. Between the extensive back catalog of songs that Garcia-Rivera has amassed over the years, along with the songs that he and protégé Rodriguez have written in the past 6 years, there’s enough material in their repertoire to release a box set. Some quotes from their lyrics tell their story better than anyone could:
“I don’t fit in, I deviate. Forbidden to participate” [Justice And Revenge]
“Make it past the bouncer if you have clout -power and money is what it’s all about in Miami” [Sobe]
“The real world- it does not welcome you- you orbit in its sphere, but escape its pull- it does not let you in, you do not fit in” [Parasitic Friend]
“Pack your bags, go hit the street- marginalized, you’re obsolete”  [Marginalized]
“I walk these streets alone, these streets are now my home. If you look into my eyes, you might feel terrorized” [Destitute]
“What did I do to deserve this fate, to feel the wrath of society’s hate? I followed my conscience and did what’s right, and here I am in an endless night” [Endless Night]
“I’m not the lowest denominator, I won’t submit to the assimilator” [I Can’t Take It Anymore]
Lest you get the impression from the above lyrics that the band are a bunch of serious mopes, don’t be fooled- all the above songs are leavened with a dollop of wry humor, irony, and sarcasm. LGIT pokes fun at both itself and at the world around them. Take a gander at the words from “Goodbye 182”, their “ode” to pop punk darlings Blink 182:
“In the blink of an eye, you’ll be gone- “Where Are They Now?” on VH1, Goodbye 182! Fifteen minutes past, now be gone- let the clock start at 15:01, Goodbye 182!” [Since this song was written, the Blink boys have indeed bid their adieu!]
Last Gang In Town may not have their 15 minutes of fame, but that’s not their game. They’d rather have 15 years of being infamous!

Lianne "Little Eye" Ojito

http://www.myspace.com/lianeojito

Liane Ojito was sitting on the roof of the North Hollywood, California apartment where she was couch surfing in 2003 when she wrote her first song, throwing together a jangling, folksy blast of sunshine-- "Mama" -- that remains a fan favorite. Five years later the Miami native singer/songwriter is a musical force to be reckoned with. Drawing pure raw emotion inspired by her cross-country travels and mundanely sublime human encounters, she gingerly wraps them up into lyrical treasures. Liane’s songs are at once catchy and soulful with a natural rhythm, conveyed by her stylized vocals and percussive guitar playing.
Ojito bought her first guitar at age 15 while on a Costa Rican vacation. “I didn’t have any idea how to play the guitar, I just knew when I saw it I had to make it mine,” she recalls of the only burgundy classical guitar in the store. Liane enrolled in guitar classes in highschool that year. When the music program in school was rescinded a year later, she began receiving private instruction at home. She continued to play guitar after highschool, drifting from the structure of formal instruction, and began carving out her unique playing style.
Liane began recording in 2004 using the on-board mic of her laptop, which lent her songs an intimate, lo-fi sound reminiscent of early Bright Eyes and Iron & Wine. She played gigs in bars and coffee shops all over Los Angeles before taking off for New York in October of 2006, collaborating with a number of musicians, and performing everywhere from bars to street corners. In June of that same year, she headed back to Miami where she played a number of gigs with the group Liane & The Mystery Band, until the band parted ways in May of 2007. It was at this time that Liane forged a creative partnership with Everett "The Golden Child" Ramey, a musician and producer based out of Lake Worth, Florida. His years as a professional musician, stellar guitar work and exceptional production skills were everything Liane was seeking to take her talent to the next level and together they recorded the demo “Wide Awake”.
Liane went to Austin, Texas to play South by Southwest in March of 2008 and fell in love with the city, “It’s everything I was looking for, amazing people, great music and the breast of Mother Nature”, so she packed her bags and moved there in April.
Influenced by Janis Joplin,70's-era Aerosmith and Elvis Presley, the listener may also hear traces of PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, Ani DiFranco and even Woody Guthrie sprinkled liberally throughout Liane's eclectic catalog of songs. From the haunting, moody melody of "Alive" to the island-inspired "Lookin' to Sea" to the wailing vocals of the rocking, borderline psychedelic "Desert Sun," some constants remain -- Liane's unique vision, the raw, aching exuberance of her sultry voice, and the DIY optimism that got her thinking about songwriting in the first place, creating music that linger and evolve with time.

Poppa E

www.blackowlmusic.com
http://www.myspace.com/blackowlmusicmiami

Born in 1948 and now in his third decade as a professional performing artist, E continues to nurture his passion for the Blues. Growing up in New York, he discovered his purpose at the age of 13, when he was drawn to the sounds of Acoustic Blues; and got his first harmonica when he discovered Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee.
In the 70s, 80s and 90s, he developed his singer/songwriting talents, as well as an aptitude for playing other instruments beautifully… His speciality was the blues harp. He established himself as a ground-breaking, harmonica player, and became a percussionist with Hodges, James and Smith (back in the early 70s) as well as a studio musician with Bolic Sound Studios, playing behind Ike and Tina Turner. He also played percussions on Sussex Records with Bobbi Hall behind Bill Withers in 1971 through 1974. In the 80s, he moved to Chicago where he played with the likes of John Prine, Jo Mapes, and Joseph Jarman.
Whilst family and other commitments would interrupt his career, E always returned to his roots in blues and 2000 saw the release of his second album, "The First Time Out", an extraordinary recording that was an eclectic mix of ten original compositions comprising of Blues, R&B, Jazz, Delta and Gospel. In 2002, E hit his stride, adding his exceptional harmonica skills and powerful vocals to the mix. He delivers charismatic, compelling, and passionate performances that are charged with emotion and filled with his authentic signature style. Always experimenting with new sounds, he sometimes makes bold, daring renditions of obscure tunes of legendary icons such as Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, adding his unique spin to them.
2006 was a creative year for E, what with three albums released and building his own record label, Black Owl Music. Whilst his albums showcase the sensual range of his vocals and the use of his voice as an incredibly multi-faceted instrument, it is his haunting-harp signature style that captivates and inspires his audience. "Mississippi Reminiscence" is the most personal of his work, and "Five Long Years: A Tribute To Carey Bell" has been hailed as sheer unadulterated blues.

Prostitots

In December of 2006 Prostitots was formed. They all met at the workplace, and are still coworkers. Chelly (also an artist under the alias Mission From Göd) is self-taught and sings in the band. Rictor (also a guitarist/singer/songwriter from Space Station 5) debuts his drumming with Prostitots. Finally, Cesar (also a solo producer/songwriter under C Zar; and Yenkenes) plays the organs/keyboards. Influenced by everything from Slick Rick to The Ramones, to Bjork, to Beethoven, this trio eliminates the necessity of a guitarist and bassist. Dancy, simple, and full of expression, this band gives a new genre a following. Rock N Run!

Revolution

http://www.myspace.com/revolutionfl

The band originally started in mid 1999 under the name "jennys a whore". Jenny played in several places around town, recorded or demo in late mar,2000. Whoring ourselves we started to promote it, and sent it out to everyone. Finally, we got a response from BlueTorch(sports show of the time), They wanted to do a tour to play live while the skaters where on the half pipe, Jenny's A Whore accepted and everything looked like it had fallen in to place. Because of personal problems within the band we had to cancel. everyone went into their separate ways. Gery the singer went on to sing in various local bands around town. Joel went into work with an old friend of his Oscar to make acoustic, electronic aftehours type of music in an outfit called Banda De Ladrones. The rest of the band started projects of there own. several years past but nothing was like the original line up. Gery vocals and Oscar guitar started a jam session one night, and the song was called "revolution". We decided to start the band again. Oscar called Joel bass and I(Gery) called Abe on drums. As a new band we started on new material, but abe had to move on(thanx 4 the help bro.) The new band used several session drummers for live shows (Thanks Dany for the help!). For the recording Gery played the drums. There was no name for the band and there was no steady drummer. We played several shows without a Name...then it hit us, The first song we wrote to start this whole reunion "REVOLUTION", should be the name of the band, so thats how we came up with the name. Then out of nowhere, We get the number of a drummer who could try out for REVOLUTION. Within the first minute, We all knew had found the forth member of "REVOLUTION" the KEVMAN. REVOLUTION has been constantly playing shows since late 2007... We had a live broadcast from mezz.tv (THANKS MONCHI & CREW!) REVOLUTION is playing in local stages around town, trying to keep live music alive!!!!!!!!now you started the REVOLUTION!!!!!

Sweet Bronco is the solo project of South Florida singer-songwriter Christopher J. Horgan. A prolific songwriter and versatile musician, Horgan has written for and played in a number of established bands in South Florida and Los Angeles.
Two years ago, Horgan left his humid home of Fort Lauderdale to dry out in arid Southern California. Inspired by the golden vistas and solitary dark nights of the long drive west, he conceived of a folk infused rock project that he came to call Sweet Bronco. While playing keyboards in the premier L.A. shoegaze band Eskimohunter, Horgan started writing and recording songs for a concept album combining the autobiographical themes of seafaring, endless night, and collective aimlessness.
Much of the Sweet Bronco catalog is informed by a mixture of Brit rock such as Blur, Travis and Radiohead as well as classic groups like The Zombies, Beatles, and Stones. The inspiration for Sweet Bronco’s lyrics and soul, however, are American standards such as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Otis Redding, and Creedence Clearwater Revival as well as early R.E.M. and the Pixies.
Sweet Bronco is currently booking and playing live shows around South Florida. In between shows, Sweet Bronco is back in the studio putting the finishing touches on the soon-to-be released mini-album Alive and Living Well. Sweet Bronco plans to tour Florida and Georgia in late July and the rest of the Southeast U.S. in September.

The Fly Kingdom

This project started back a few years ago when I, Jerry Oviedo, started having "thoughts" about religion and the institutions that associate themselves with them and realizing that they were no less sleazy than any lawyer or doctor. However these men had the word of God to hide under when things got bad as this is the law of the land. A few years later, the thoughts started forming, this time in lyric format and the riffs just appeared one by one. Laying it all out (as it is still taking different shapes), track after track, this became known as "The Fly Kingdom". I don't know how far it will go since it was a project fueled by my honest opinions, so it's all up for grabs. In the mean time I hope you enjoy the music as much I enjoyed making it... Currently I made a free 180 degree turn and took up the sitar... This rendition of the band is now fueled by internal inspiration as opposed to lyrics or thoughts of everything that is wrong with society... But I believe in evolution, specially if it's for the better...

The Kut

This quartet out of Hialeah, Fl brings a brash yet melodic sense to music once though lost. Chris Core (guitar), Ivan RIvera (vocals), Celow (Bass), and Roger "The Tank" Gonzalez bring together a unique sound with melodic riffs and searing vocals with a hard pounding/primitive beat this band sounds like a freight train at times. After a hiatus of 6 months The Kut is back with new songs and a whole new set and look on the band's life. They plan on hitting the streets hard and are releasing a EP by the end of the year.

To Be Hated was formed in early 2005, members of the band include former members of South Florida punk/ska bands Mr. Abstracto and the sour grapes and The Skadillacs. Being a part of the South Florida scene since our teenage years enabled us to capture the spirit of our scene and make it an essential part of our songwriting. The first album was released in 2006, tittled "Dance Of Doom". This album was then followed by our second release "Bootcamp For Whores" which was released in early 2007. To Be Hated is currently getting ready to record our third full length album, tentavively tittled "The Puncher". We've had the pleasure of playing alongside punk rock pioneers such as Agent Orange and the Buzzcocks. To Be Hated has also played over 100 local shows during our time together. Strongly influenced by old school values, we're a bullshit free band, no big egos and no rock star attitudes. We're out to have fun with our music and to share it with our fellow scenesters and local musicians.
