Hey Everyone.... We have some HUGE NEWS!!!! After weeks talking things through we have finalized and signed on with indie label TMG in OK and we take this opportunity they have offered us. LOVE Thursdays Open Mic @ The Black Owl Cafe has been cancelled.
There is an Open Mic at the same location on tuesdays now, hosted by Big Poppa E.

Calling all bands!! This summer Sweat is partnering up with the MOCA to present a series of three "BATTLE OF THE BANDS" events in conjunction with their awesome new exhibition "Sympathy For The Devil: Art and Rock and Roll Since 1967." The events will be on Thursday June 26th, July 24th, and August 28th. The winner of each event will receive a brand new Epiphone guitar courtesy of Gibson!! To enter, simply drop off a CD with your BEST track at Sweat or the MOCA, with your band's name and full contact information clearly labeled on it.
The contest is for all unsigned bands over 18 and the deadline is June 6th so don't sleep on this great opportunity for exposure!!

Rag*Trade has now been officially adopted by the Sweat Records familia! I started Rag*Trade in early 2007 because I felt Miami needed a store like this; green, funky, affordable, no attitude, and good for the community. I feel I’ve accomplished these things and the love from all of you supports these feelings. I wanted to cultivate our little corner of the world with something fresh and beautiful. Rag*Trade will continue to be a hub for local designers to showcase and sell their designs and art work, and will continue to be Miami’s only clothing exchange, in addition Rag*Trade will have a new section dedicated to selling local band merchandise. Our city is changing by the day, with new construction booming and busting, it’s essential that small, independent businesses continue to thrive, otherwise the city risks loosing its soul to mega-business and corporate brands. For me, Rag*Trade is a stand against all of that; It’s a place for subculture, green ideologies, and creating community. Miami always gets a bad rap when it comes to “conscious business” (or conscious anything, really), but slowly that’s changing and Rag*Trade is happy to be a part of this new wave.
Personally, I’m off to do a little traveling, a little farm living, and a little soul searching. But I will return with an arsenal of new projects and ideas I can’t wait to share with you all. Please continue to support Sweat Records and Rag*Trade and come by and meet the very charming new owners.
The schedule from here on out is as follows: Rag*Trade will be closed for a bit (May 2-9) while it undergoes some restocking.
On May 9 Rag*Trade will reopen and then on May 30 is the Grand Re-Opening Party! So mark your calendars and clean your closets out for some rag trading!

Bachaco on Escandalo TV - Telefutura, this Friday!!! We are happy to announce that Bachaco won the Burger King’s contest "Tu Ciudad Tu Música" de Burger King.
Bachaco made a huge impression on both judges and the public and that’s how they won $2,500 and a customized Burger King guitar.
